During a recent occurrence in Hong Kong, XPENG Introduced the all-new 2025 XPENG X9, an electric Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) that serves as the brand’s premier global offering. This marks the debut of XPENG’s latest innovation, equipping the vehicle with their advanced Turing AI Smart Driving system right out of the gate. Consequently, drivers will be able to enjoy hands-free driving on highways, seamless automated lane changing, and effortless maneuvering within parking lots starting from the initial delivery date.
The X9 features 496 technological enhancements, with approximately 35% of its components being entirely new designs. This vehicle operates on XPENG’s advanced 800V platform, enabling ultra-fast charging capabilities. In just ten minutes, you can gain an additional 405 kilometers of driving range, or achieve a charge from 10% to 80% in twelve minutes utilizing the 5C Superfast Charging AI battery system. Furthermore, this model boasts impressive efficiency with only 16.2 kilowatt-hours required for every hundred kilometers traveled—the current benchmark among similar vehicles.
Within the cabin, the X9 features zero-gravity reclining seats, a 21.4-inch display for rear-seat entertainment, wireless rapid-charging stations, adjustable mood lighting, and a third-row seat that can be flattened with the press of a button. The AI-driven adaptive suspension system modifies instantaneously based on road conditions, aiding in providing a more comfortable journey.
Regarding safety, XPENG states that the X9 has achieved leading ratings in various crash tests. This vehicle includes 14 advanced safety technologies such as automated emergency braking. Additionally, the battery pack has undergone rigorous testing to endure severe impacts, claimed to be comparable to surviving 10 bullets being fired at it.
Behind the scenes, XPENG’s proprietary Turing AI Chip drives performance. This 40-core processor can handle up to 30 billion parameters locally, offering three times more computational capability than the company’s earlier model. Production of this chip will commence en masse by mid-2025.
The rollout of the X9 for Europe is scheduled to commence in late 2025, beginning with certain countries. While pricing has not been confirmed as of now, considering XPENG’s present offerings in Europe, it is anticipated to be priced over €40,000.
XPENG is supporting this launch with an established charging network of 2,110 self-operated ultra-fast charging stations. The brand has also formed strategic partnerships with major global players such as Volkswagen and bp pulse. Its charging network now spans Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and 27 European countries, with a total of 2.07 million charging points across 31 markets worldwide.
